| When is there an an algorithm to decide if two mathematical objects are equivalent? We will discuss this question for manifolds, which are central objects in mathematics and physics. We will focus on the combinatorial tools used to resolve the problem in low dimensions. Minimal mathematical knowledge will be assumed. |
